Honey Soaps:
  • Redgum honey — known botanically as Marri honey, from Corymbia calophylla — is produced from one of the most prolific flowering trees in the south-west WA forest system. Marri trees bloom abundantly when conditions are right, producing a nectar that results in a honey with a character quite distinct from Jarrah or Blackbutt: lighter in colour, more floral in profile, and with a gentler complexity that makes it highly versatile.

Our hives are placed in Marri-dominant forests — the same pristine, unsprayed country where our Jarrah and Blackbutt honey is produced.

  • Like all South West Honey products carrying a TA rating, this honey is independently tested using the University of Waikato agar well diffusion bioassay — measured against Staphylococcus aureus and expressed as percentage phenol equivalence. Our Redgum TA35+ has been certified by an accredited New Zealand laboratory.

The TA35+ rating reflects a minimum measured activity of 35% phenol equivalence. The actual tested result is available on request.

  • Cold-extracted below 40 degrees C. Minimally filtered to retain pollen, enzymes, and natural antimicrobial properties. Not blended. Not treated. The honey in this jar is exactly what the bees produced from Marri nectar in the Pemberton forest that season.

  • Take 1-2 teaspoons daily. Excellent drizzled over yoghurt, porridge, or ricotta, and as a sweetener in salad dressings and marinades where the intensity of Jarrah would be too dominant.

  • B-QUAL certified. Tested for C4 sugar adulteration and pesticide residues. Produced in the Pemberton region, Western Australia — a varroa-free beekeeping environment — by Southern Ocean Apiaries Pty Ltd trading as South West Honey.

  • B-QUAL certified: what this means B-QUAL is Australia's national honey quality assurance program. Certification requires documented hive management practices, regular hygiene audits, chemical residue testing, and full traceability from hive to jar. It is independently audited — not a self-declared standard. South West Honey holds B-QUAL certification across our entire production operation.
